Package: flashplugin-nonfree
Version: 7.0.25-5
Severity: important
When using flash with Firefox, graphics are being displayed but no
text(fonts) are being rendered. gsfonts-x11 package installation fixed
the problem
gs-fonts should be not recommanded but required. Even if the plugin
works fine, it does not render everything correctly.
NO. Should be recommended.
Because some flash software works fine without gsfonts-x11.
Don t agree with you. Because few flash seems to work correctly (on what
I have experienced over the past month) like Google Analytics, Nokia
cellphone comparing tool, sony ericsson, and so on... have Flash not
displaying any text making the site unusable (give it a shot with Google
analytics and you will see what I am talking about)... Those being
quite big (specifically google analytics..) this is most probably
impacting a lot of people. Althought it is recommended, user lambda
will experience the problem without knowing what to do.
Your definition of working is I think a bit wrong in that particular
case. Because it compiles and run without crashing and displays some
flash does not mean it works fines... Purpose of Flash is to display
text and graphics most of the time. So if it does not work most of the
time(on what I experienced) then this is making the user frustrated.
