Just install the systemd package (but not systemd-sysv) and keep sysvinit-core installed. Then you can easily boot with systemd by specifying the kernel command line parameter init=/lib/systemd/systemd This allows you to test systemd without replacing sysvinit as default init. -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
