Hi,
As libhdf5-serial-dev has been reintroduced as a transitional package, this
problem is gone (other FTBFS issues remain, however).
>From the hdf5 changelog:
hdf5 (1.8.12-9) unstable; urgency=low
* Reintroduce transitionnal dummy package libhdf5-serial-dev to allow
the transition to testing (previous release failed).
* Architecture: all for all transitionnal dummy packages.
