I'm following up on old util-linux bug reports and ran across your old report at: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=561209 Can you still reproduce the problem? If so, could you please hack the postinst script to run all commands verbose too and send in the information so we can identify exactly which command is failing for you? You'll find the script at: /var/lib/dpkg/info/util-linux.postinst Just add a line like "set -x" somewhere at the beginning of the script.
