Hello,
I already wondered about the naming here, too. To support the claim that
tastypie is unusable without django:
$ pydoc tastypie.authentication
problem in tastypie.authentication - <class
'django.core.exceptions.ImproperlyConfigured'>: Requested setting CACHES, but
settings are not configured. You must either define the environment variable
DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE or call settings.configure() before accessing settings.
OTOH the naming seems to be on purpose; the entry for 0.9.9-3 in
/usr/share/doc/python-tastypie/changelog.Debian.gz has:
* rename python-django-tastypie to python-tastypie
but without further explanation about the reasons.
