Hi Matthias, you posted on debian-ports and some others about the 4.9 transition. I have now the problem with building texlive-bin on s390x. The resulting binaries segfault on various occasions during the tests.
Switching to gcc/g++ 4.8 fixes this problem. Do you have any suggestion on how to fix that? I posted a lengthy description to the TeX Live builder list: https://www.tug.org/pipermail/tlbuild/2014q3/003012.html The problem is that compilation works, but the generated binaries are just not working in some cases. Before uploading a package which specifically selects the 4.8 compiler on s390x, I wanted to ask if you have any suggestion.
