This has been a problem in the past for me using iceweasel, but I've
been able to work around it by downgrading iceweasel. A downgrade of
iceweasel stopped working a few days ago, but the iceweasel version
of this bug seems to have been fixed in the past day or so (with
version 31.0~b3-1), presumably due to bug 751569 getting fixed.
Scratch that. I still get crashes using iceweasel, but they're just not
happening at startup:
Inconsistency detected by ld.so: dl-open.c: 689: _dl_open: Assertion
`_dl_debug_initialize (0, args.nsid)->r_state == RT_CONSISTENT' failed!
This only [now] happens on iceweasel after viewing html-ish pages (apart
from the start page), but the crashing is inconsistent:
* http://localhost:631/ [cups server, no crash]
* file:///home/gringer/ [local file listing, crashes]
* file:///home/gringer/public_html [local file listing, crashes]
* file:///home/gringer/inkscape/clocks/ [local file listing, no crash]
* file:///home/gringer/inkscape/clocks/malaghan/malaghan_clock_v3.svg
[svg image, no crash]
* file:///home/gringer/malaghan_clock_v3.svg [same file copied to a
different location, no crash]
* elegans.local/jbrowse
[JBrowse genome browser, hosted on my computer, no crash]
* elegans.local/~gringer/ [file listing for my user directory, no crash]
* http://www.gringene.org/concentric_clock.svg
[remote svg file, hosted on a server I own, no crash]
* http://www.gringene.org/pastimes.html [remote HTML file, no crash]
* http://www.gringene.org [remote HTML file with embedded SVG, crash]
* http://openclipart.org
[remote website, starts loading then crashes -- I can stop loading,
and then navigate the front page]
* https://openclipart.org/people/gringer/concentric_clock.svg
[remote SVG file, no crash]
*
https://openclipart.org/image/2400px/svg_to_png/194481/concentric_clock.png
[remote PNG file, no crash]
*
https://openclipart.org/detail/194481/concentric-loop-clock-grey-without-background-by-gringer-194481
[remote HTML page, loads text then crashes]
This behaviour is weird.
