Package: mime-support Version: 3.56 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
the package mime-supports installs /usr/bin/edit as a symlink to /usr/bin/run-mailcap . However, in many cases this does not open the the application most probably desired by the user. E.g.: $ edit foobar.html would open the sensible www-browser, most likely iceweasel. The expected behaviour would be to open an editor instead. Suggestion: A better link target would be /etc/alternatives/editor ---<)kaimartin(>--- PS: Thank you Debian maintainers for your long term efforts! *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.14-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash mime-support depends on no packages.
