Just checked the description from backports: Backports cannot be tested as extensively as Debian stable, and backports are provided on an as-is basis, with risk of incompatibilities with other components in Debian stable. Use with care! Checked this after I read your comment - did not know this before. This means: when it is from backports, it might be incompatible and therefore it's not a bug. Because of this IMHO this bug be closed. Nevertheless there are some problems that also occur in the stable release.
