Hi Chris Since redis was running as root under systemd the files it created are now owned by root.
This is why I initialy changed the post install script to recursively change permissions back to redis:redis. I agree with your assessment that this might be a little too much. Just changing /var/log/redis/redis-server.log and /var/lib/redis/dump.rdb should be enough for default installations.
