I found a way to make this semi-reproducible, and it seems as if disabling the integration with the KDE wallet fixes the problem. According to the comments on <https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/kde-wallet-password-integratio/reviews/>, there's a mozilla issue opened for this and it may be a JIT bug.
