That's fair enough.  I had thought that I more clearly asked you what
you wanted to do with this bug, but I see that it could be misread.

Basically, dvdbackup only extracts what's on the DVD, and doesn't
produce new files.  The IFO files that you are looking for would need to
be recreated for just the video part that has been extracted, and that's
something that dvdbackup doesn't currently do.  dvdauthor may be a
better bet for stuff like that.

If you can think of wording for the manpage, README, or description that
will make it more clear that dvdbackup does not produce new files,
please open a wishlist bug asking for the wording to be changed, and
I'll take care of it as soon as I can.
