Package: nsd3
Version: 3.2.12-3+deb7u1
Severity: normal

the NSD3 /the same NSD4 in testing and unstable/ limit of 8 ip addresses
in the configuration file.
This could be change in compile time adding the --with-max-ips=X.

In pure IPv4 environments the 8 IPs is enough, but in IPv6/IPv6 with HA
environments is this limit too low.
I run out of this limit on our testing server where I prepare production
configuration.

Would it be possible to add this compile directive to the package build?

I suggest number 1024 as the maintainer of thensd3 package in Feroda
EPEL repository did. This is enough high to be never reached.

As drawback is that the internal structures will be a liite bit bigger
and the nsd3 will need more memory.

        best regards
                Peter Hudec
