I too would have loved to see the Eclipse package upgraded to its most recent release (version 4.4 codenamed Luna as of today). Eclipse has picked up quite some pace at my lab for C++ (via CDT) and Python development (via PyDev).
I'd be happy to provide some of my time to help with the packaging effort but I cannot do it alone though. Just to echo Adrien that other people care as well but Eclipse is quite a piece of software to package. Hopefully, more people may voice their interest. Cheers, Ghis
