For the longest time no one had the time to update qt-gstreamer to the GStreamer 1.0 api. We finally managed to do the port and there is progress on patches for the few packages that are using qt-gstreamer. I know the updates to improve kde-telepathy-call-ui require the update to GStreamer 1.0. I suspect the Debian GStreamer maintainers would love for 0.10 to disappear.
