*** Please type your report below this line *** I noticed this while finding a reproducible test case for Bug 294441, but I think it's unrelated because it happens regardless of which GTK theme I'm using.
My test case uses gtk-demo. I'm assuming the problem is in the library and not in the demo program itself, but I don't actually have any other test cases so I can't be sure of that.
How to reproduce: run gtk-demo from the gtk2.0-examples package and double click on Text Widge -> Multiple Views from the list on the left. The text "red stippled background" has a solid red background, when it should have a stippled red background.
I don't know if this is even worth investigating, since I don't know if anyone actually uses stippling.
