Package: ircd-irc2
Version: 2.11.2p3~dfsg-2
Severity: normal
Hi,
apparently this irc daemon requires the configuration to use the
percent sign (%) as delimiter instead of the colon (:) as denoted in
its documentation and partially written in its own configuration file.
For example, the configuration lists the following setting as valid:
P::::6667::
However, this results in "No valid P line available" (or phrased
similar).
The default configuration of this package contains the proper line:
P%%%%6667%
Different to the A line where the configuration uses the colon as
delimiter, but the software requires a percent sign.
When I say configuration I refer to the file referenced on top of the
configuration:

# This is ircd's config-file. Look at
# /usr/share/doc/ircd-irc2/ircd.conf.example.gz and
# and /usr/share/doc/ircd-irc2/INSTALL.* for more detailled information
# and instructions

Regards
Joey
