If the user is offline etc. when upgrading the package, Setting up pepperflashplugin-nonfree (1.6) ... ERROR: failed to retrieve status information from google : W: Failed to fetch http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/dists/stable/InRelease W: Failed to fetch http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/dists/stable/Release.gpg Could not resolve 'dl.google.com' W: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead. More information might be available at: http://wiki.debian.org/PepperFlashPlayer Setting up python-debian (0.1.23) ... Processing triggers for libc-bin (2.19-10) ... Current status: 2 updates [-34]. Maybe the best thing to do would be leave the package marked as not fully configured. That way a second run of apt-get etc. later when online, would configure it. Actually a proper man page with instructions for offline updating would also be good. E.g., to update offline, the user should be sure to not only copy pepperflashplugin-nonfree*.deb to his machine, but also ... and place them in /var/... etc. One might think 'why would one want to update offline, when most of the flash stuff is online anyway?' Well sometimes some machines are temporarily on 'sneakernets' etc... -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [email protected]
