Package: Synaptic
Version: 0.57.6
Hello,
Running up to date stock sid except for a plain-vanilla 2.6.14.3 kernel,
apt-get install synaptic on 30-Nov-05 gives the following output:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
synaptic: Depends: libgtk2.0-0 (>= 2.8.0) but 2.6.10-2 is to be installed
Depends: libpango1.0-0 (>= 1.10.1) but 1.8.2-3 is to be installed
E: Broken packages
The required versions of libgtk2.0-0 and libpango1.0-0 are both in
experimental rather than unstable. I guess that this is not what should be
the case or do I really need to add experimental to my sources.list?
