Here is a small update on this issue. Any hope to get it fixed in
file before Jessie?

It got a small update a few hours later. The latest version of the vorbis file
is the one we want. :)

With the help of Matthias Klumpp and the appstream/DEP11 project, I
located all packages currently listing application/ogg as a supported
format, and checked if they also list video/ogg as a supported format.

These are video tools that already list video/ogg as a supported
format, at least in unstable:

  /usr/share/applications/gnome-mplayer.desktop #762565
  /usr/share/applications/kde4/dragonplayer.desktop
  /usr/share/applications/kde4/kaffeine.desktop
  /usr/share/applications/parole.desktop

These are video tools that do not yet list video/ogg as supported
formats:

  /usr/share/applications/advene.desktop #763174
  /usr/share/applications/ghb.desktop #763175
  /usr/share/applications/mpv.desktop #763173
  /usr/share/applications/vlc.desktop #762564

These are audio tools that should not list video/ogg:

  /usr/share/applications/audacious.desktop
  /usr/share/applications/audacity.desktop
  /usr/share/applications/decibel-audio-player.desktop
  /usr/share/applications/gnomad2.desktop
  /usr/share/applications/kde4/amarok.desktop
  /usr/share/applications/kde4/amarok_containers.desktop
  /usr/share/applications/qmmp.desktop
  /usr/share/applications/qmmp_enqueue.desktop
  /usr/share/applications/rhythmbox.desktop
  /usr/share/applications/soundconverter.desktop
