Hi, I've been trying to get this working all week, I've encountered the
same bug with the "kernel: ipw2200: Unknown symbol ieee80211_wx_(get|
set)_encodeext". I read what vincent mentioned and did an `apt-get
source linux-image-2.6.14-2-686`. I edited the configs the used to
build the kernel to remove all the ipw2200 and ieee80211* stuff out of
the kernel, built the deb packages based on it, removed the old modules
and kernel headers and then installed the deb package I built. This
gave me a kernel free from ieee80211 and ipw2200 which I booted into. I
then proceeded with module_assistant and built and installed
ieee80211-source and ipw2200-source. Attempting to load the module
ended up with the same message. I since reverted to the original kernel
and am using the ipw2200 that comes with it. It works unencrypted
wireless networks but my WPA-PSK network at home gets no love at all...
I hope we can figure this out soon, I've lost my mobility :(

Michael
