Is that news? The current Debian packages already use that, no reason to tell me. And if it really was new, I'm sure I would notice anyway when the configure step would abort on it...
Also, please forbid the freeglut 2.4.0 currently in testing -- request either the 2.2.0 from sarge or later (currently CVS AFAIU) freeglut, otherwise it won't start.
The freeglut currently in testing seems to be the fixed one (same one as in unstable), so the broken one is just history now, a history I don't feel the need of remembering in the flightgear packaging forever, people should just upgrade as normal to fix the problem I think.
