Package: sysvinit-core Version: 2.88dsf-53.4 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? I tried using systemd-sysv and wasn't happy with it so I installed sysvinit-core, however, with it installed, kexec-load is apparently not running and I get a hardware reboot on init 6 rather than kexec running. See also Debian bug report #764626. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I tried getting /etc/init.d/kexec-load to send extra output to the console, and also put a wait command in /etc/init.d/reboot to see if any messages were being output before rebooting, but I saw nothing to indicate that /etc/init.d/kexec-load was run or any kexec-related activity generated output. * What was the outcome of this action? * What outcome did you expect instead? kexec to work. *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.17.0+ (SMP w/4 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages sysvinit-core depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.53 ii debianutils 4.4 ii initscripts 2.88dsf-53.4 ii libc6 2.19-11 ii libselinux1 2.3-2 ii libsepol1 2.3-2 ii sysv-rc 2.88dsf-53.4 ii sysvinit-utils 2.88dsf-53.4 sysvinit-core recommends no packages. sysvinit-core suggests no packages. -- debconf information: sysvinit/hurd-fix-inittab: -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
