Because that's the way it works. You need to specify the package it should install first. It's the only thing that sbuild will consider. The current version in unstable has an shlibs adding a dependency on dbus-glib-1 (>= 0.23.4), which I think is getting renamed to libdbus-glib-1? This means you will need to do some transition in any case. Having the build dependency support that now isn't going to make it much easier. The only thing it could have as advantage is that maybe it could be done as binNMUs instead of a sourceful upload. PS: Is the release team aware of those plans? Kurt
