Package: unattended-upgrades
Version: 0.79.5+wheezy1
Followup-For: Bug #762965

Dear Maintainer,

I have been running unattended-upgrades in some sistems, it has performed weel
until now.
Im using unattended-upgrades to keep the software in my organzation main server
up to date. For extra security i have added the parameter n=wheezy.
I have also some desktops machines using the same package but with the option
"a=stable". The reason for this is because they are more visible and is less
likely
that these machines are to be forgotten during jessie release.

This was a total failure, i just noticed that i'm some weeks lagging in
security updates in the server, investigating further i have come to this bug.

I think because these simple name issue the package should add a warning,
fixed, or simply be dropped from wheezy, because it can compromise integrity or
security
of the system, and there is the cron-apt alternative.

The python-apt package mencioned before now is in a newer version in jessie and
wheezy and therefore
not installable, so there is no safe workaround for this bug now.

Is it fixable?
