Yes, but then lxappearance still shouldn't check explicitly for
lxsession, but only for a valid _XSETTINGS_S* atom.

There are several alternative XSETTINGS daemons: xsettings-kde and
xsettingsd come to my mind, but probably gnome-settings-daemon would
also work.
