Package: base-files Followup-For: Bug #698479 PS: I fully agree with the bug reporter that the order in which profile, bash_profile and bashrc are sourced should remain consistent between dot files and global ones. However, defaults shipped by Debian should never ever squash locally-installed customization. If ensuring this requires keeping /etc/profile.d sourcing at the end of /etc/profile, so be it; if a better solution exists, let's adopt it.
