I've been bitten by this too, both evolution and gnome-shell starting displaying recurring events which ended years ago. As Joachim said, downgrading libical1 to version 1.0-1 fixes the problem. I have taken a look at the diff between version 1.0-1 and 1.0-1.1 and it's indeed just the copyright fix. I'd therefore guess, that the bug actually existed for a while and the recent upload just triggered it by rebuilding the package. I'll try to have a look at this over the weekend, fortunately libical's build dependencies are fairly limited... Best regards Alexander Kurtz
