Well, the profiles were never really tested intensively on anything older than sid as far as know, and nobody pretends they're supposed to work there (except those who prepared the backport ;) => lots of things can go wrong on Wheezy. Of course, if you can reproduce this in a clean Jessie or sid VM, it's an entirely different matter.
