Please provide more information about the "tons of errors".

You only to install, and as stated on
https://gnunet.org/content/generic-installation-instructions, you need
to add the lines below to ~/.config/gnunet.conf and launch as user

$gnunet-arm -c ~/.config/gnunet.conf -s

[arm]
SYSTEM_ONLY = NO
USER_ONLY = YES
DEFAULTSERVICES = gns
