Package: emacs24
Version: 24.4+1-4
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

after upgrading one of my workstations to emacs24-24.4+1-4, sending mail
from Gnus (pressing 'm' in the *Group* buffer, gnus-group-mail) no
longer worked. I got an error message telling me that autoloading
gnus-nnir-group-p from nnir had failed.

It turns out that Emacs had found an old nnir.{el.gz,elc} that was part
of gnus-bonus-el, an obsolete package that was still installed on the
affected system. This file did not define the needed function. After I
have removed that package, Emacs finds the right nnir.el and everything
works.

I think that emacs24 should conflict with gnus-bonus-el so we don't
break users' Gnus setups when they upgrade from wheezy to jessie.

Cheers,
-Hilko
