Package: reprepro Version: 4.16.0-1 Severity: wishlist dpkg 1.17.6 and newer supports so called "uniform compression" where control.tar is compressed with the same compressor that was used for data.tar, meaning for xz you end up with data.tar.xz and control.tar.xz.
reprepro currently hardcodes control.tar.gz and fails on uniformly compressed debian packages. it would be nice if you could add support for this in reprepro (yes, i'm aware that this is currently a non-default option in dpkg but i'm using this for my own packages (outside debian)).
