Hi,

[ This is a mostly unedited version of an email I sent to upstream. The
  bug affects jessie. ]

I noticed that cheese was crashing on my desktop today. Some
investigations showed that this also happens with a plain gstreamer
pipeline using v4l2sink (e.g. gst-launch-1.0 -f v4l2src ! xvimagesink).

The trace goes like this:

  Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

(don't have any more symbols than this.)

This is fixed in upstream commit
757d7910ddf43d9a9187dddae4f51a57fb723e8d. I think you should cherry-pick
this into Debian.
