retitle 279373 [TO CLOSE 20051209] samba: File times are 1 hour behind
following time change
thanks
Hello,
In #279373, Peter reports a file timestamp ofset when
writing to a samba share from a windows machine, file times being one
hour earlier than then real time they were written.
This happened shortly after the switch to Winter Time.
I suspect some weird combination of Windows/Unix time change
interactions, not necessarily related to samba.
Up to now, all my own file servers have properly survived time changes
with no restart of the samba server.
I suggest closing this bug as "probably old issue noone can
investigate anymore".
A few changes such as the following could also be an indication that a
possible bug has been fixed since then:
* Fix smbc_stat() from returning incorrect timestamps IFF
it used cli_qpathinfo2() to retrieve the timestamps (Win2k)
and not if it used cli-getatr() to retrieve the timestamps
(Win98).
* BUG 2285: Patch for hires timestamps and efficient notify code.
Peter, do you still experience the bug? Did you have problems at the
last timechange?
