Nope, as discussed earlier [1], it is a problem related to not implementing the XDG Inhibit/UnHibit interface in mate-screensaver and obviously also in xscreensaver.
Probably also in xscreensaver then. Might make sense to clone this bug (or file it anew against xscreensaver with enough background information).
