Package: gnome-system-tools Version: 3.0.0-4 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I am reporting the issue described at Launchpad #1299138 (originally reported by user intherye) upstream as I can reproduce it on Debian with gnome-system-tools-3.0.0-4. When attempting to change the password in users-admin (a.k.a. User Settings) to a password that is "too simple" (e.g. "a12345"), the "Change User Password" dialog will report "Password too simple" on the first try, but will hang on the second try. The dialog can be closed, and one can return to "User Settings" without the password having changed. However, when users-admin is run from OS X over "ssh -Y", it DOES NOT hang (always reports "Password too simple"; using OS X 10.10.1, OpenSSH_6.7p1, OpenSSL 1.0.1j 15 Oct 2014 for macports, and XQuartz 2.7.8_beta1). -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers testing-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-powerpc Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages gnome-system-tools depends on: ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.22.0-1 ii libatk1.0-0 2.14.0-1 ii libc6 2.19-13 ii libcairo-gobject2 1.14.0-2.1 ii libcairo2 1.14.0-2.1 ii libdbus-1-3 1.8.12-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.31.1-2+b1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.42.1-1 ii libgtk-3-0 3.14.5-1 ii liboobs-1-5 3.0.0-2 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.36.8-3 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.36.8-3 ii libpolkit-gobject-1-0 0.105-8 ii lxsession [policykit-1-gnome] 0.5.1-2 ii policykit-1-gnome 0.105-2 gnome-system-tools recommends no packages.
