Package: src:linux Version: 3.16.7-ckt2-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation? I'm using a ThinkPad T440s with belgian azerty built-in keyboard. I have a luks encrypted file system. At boot, the prompt asks me for my password to decrypt the file system. With kernel 3.16.3-2 (2014-09-20), the prompt was expecting me to type my password on my azerty keyboard, the azerty way. (which is what I expect too) Since my system was upgraded to kernel 3.16.7-ckt2-1 (2014-12-08), the prompt is expecting me to type my password in a qwerty way. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? At boot, the system shows the password prompt to decrypt my luks encrypted filesystem. I typed my password as usual, on my Azerty keyboard. * What was the outcome of this action? The system didn't accept my password. I then tried to type my password as if I were typing on a Qwerty keyboard and it worked. * What outcome did you expect instead? The system should have accepted my password as typed on my Azerty keyboard, as it always did before the update. -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 3.16.0-4-amd64 (debian-ker...@lists.debian.org) (gcc version 4.8.3 (Debian 4.8.3-16) ) #1 SMP Debian 3.16.7-ckt2-1 (2014-12-08) ** Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-3.16.0-4-amd64 root=/dev/mapper/earthling--vg-root ro quiet ** Not tainted ** Kernel log: [26904.441283] cfg80211: (2474000 KHz - 2494000 KHz @ 20000 KHz), (N/A, 2000 mBm), (N/A) [26904.441284] cfg80211: (5170000 KHz - 5250000 KHz @ 160000 KHz), (N/A, 2000 mBm), (N/A) [26904.441286] cfg80211: (5250000 KHz - 5330000 KHz @ 160000 KHz), (N/A, 2000 mBm), (0 s) [26904.441287] cfg80211: (5490000 KHz - 5730000 KHz @ 160000 KHz), (N/A, 2000 mBm), (0 s) [26904.441288] cfg80211: (5735000 KHz - 5835000 KHz @ 80000 KHz), (N/A, 2000 mBm), (N/A) [26904.441289] cfg80211: (57240000 KHz - 63720000 KHz @ 2160000 KHz), (N/A, 0 mBm), (N/A) [26905.487713] PM: Syncing filesystems ... done.
