I got recently approved several fixes for alternatives cleanup, so this
shouldn't be a big problem. And if it is not cleaned up in jessie, where
should this be done instead?

Since the manpage is a slave alternative, you cannot remove it directly
- it will be automatically removed with the master alternative. So you
can simplify the postinst a bit more :-)
