Is there a standard covering the locale program?
http://www.unix.org/single_unix_specification/ (and a quick check of Solaris' manpage) gives this information: EXIT STATUS The following exit values are returned: 0 All the requested information was found and output successfully. >0 An error occurred. which implies at least that it should be nonzero. (It wrote to stderr, and did not succeed, so I'm inclined to regard it as an error). -- Thomas E. Dickey http://invisible-island.net ftp://invisible-island.net
