I installed the three files
libsane libsane-common and sane-utils
1.0.25+git20150102-1_amd64

They installed without error. I rebooted system as I also updated my 3.18
kernel at the same time

I then opened xsane and scanned a document.

It failed - same error

I then tried Simple scan and it successfully scanned one page but failed
when I tried to scan a second page.

The scanner continues to operate correctly on my second machine with a
non-intel chipset and my AMD based notebook.
