Package: tzdata-2015a-0wheezy1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, * What led up to the situation? Normal aptitude update / upgrade process. Package: tzdata-2014j0wheezy1 marked for update to 2015a ... Aptitude reports dependency problems suggests removing: 1) ca-certivicates-java 2) icedtea-7-plugin 3) icedtea-netx 4) openjdk-7-jre-headless 5) openjdk-7-jre 6) tzdata-java
Utimately, it appears that tzdata-java insists that it requires version tzdata-2014j-0wheezy1, and does not recognize 2015a as acceptable. Ditto for openjdk-6 install blob, et. al. Very likely to confuse the hey out of less experienced users, or break systems that trust debian with an unsupervised upgrade - a linux kiosk, for example. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Place hold on tzdata-2014j... * What was the outcome of this action? OK for now but not able to upgrade tzdata without losing openjava. * What outcome did you expect instead? Successful upgrade of tzdata. *** End of the template - remove these lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.8 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
