Package: netmask Version: 2.3.12 Followup-For: Bug #79512 Dear Maintainer,
In 2000 IPv6 was announced to be added soon. Netmask is a handy little tool to convert ip ranges to mask notations etc. While in IPv4 you can easily do this more or less without a tool, netmask would be very handy to calculate ipv6 boundaries. For example: I give a customer the prefix 2001:4060:d000::/56 What is the next free IPv6 prefix I can give the next customer? Sure, I could hack such a tool with perl and Net::IP quickliy, but it would be nice to have such a tool ready :-) -Benoit- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
