Is there any reason to only suggest git-daemon-run but not git-daemon-sysvinit ? Could you please add the later as an alternative Suggests? Actually I think it should even be the first alternative, as it has less dependencies (no runit) and should therefore be more native to Debian. Also since we'll have systemd as default init system, the features provided by runit (i.e. supervision/etc) are now handled by the init system itself.
