There was a discussion about this on -devel fairly recently, but I don't remember what the consensus was. AFAIK this hasn't been put in to policy yet either. I'm torn on this one myself, but I wouldn't mind removing the logs for X since they're not as important as, say, mail server logs. Given that we delete them ourselves every time you run the server, it might be best to remove them. On the other hand, as a general rule of thumb it's probably better to not remove log files for any app, and I'd rather see policy codified this way. Anyhow, I'll take a look at the -devel thread (David, if you want to look at it too and tell me what you think) we can maybe use that to help decide on a course of action. - David Nusinow
