Thanks for the suggestion.

Personally I don't feel this adds any value over the --help output and
it is liable to get out of date.

I think it would be best for Debian to not diverge from upstream here.

My suggested approach would be for codespell to adopt the git pattern
where --help brings up the manual page instead of the normal help
output. Then the duplication would be eliminated and you could produce a
more valuable manual page.

Could you discuss this with upstream?
