Package: src:dbus-glib Version: 0.100.2-1 Severity: normal According to <http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/DBusBindings/>, <http://cgit.freedesktop.org/dbus/dbus-glib/tree/README> and <http://dbus.freedesktop.org/doc/dbus-glib/ch01.html> this library is deprecated in favor of the dbus support in glib itself (gio in particular).
Accordingly, it would seem to make sense to move dbus-glib to the oldlibs section and mention that it's been deprecated in favor of the functionality added to glib in 2.26 in the description. (Yes, I know it wasn't marked as deprecated yet in 0.100, but it seems to have been effectively deprecated at least as far back as 2011-04-04 <https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12773>.) -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.8 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libdbus-glib-1-2 depends on: ii libc6 2.13-38+deb7u8 ii libdbus-1-3 1.6.8-1+deb7u6 ii libglib2.0-0 2.33.12+really2.32.4-5 ii multiarch-support 2.13-38+deb7u8 libdbus-glib-1-2 recommends no packages. libdbus-glib-1-2 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
