Dear Eriberto,
>From the issue/bug it seems the issue lies at ca-certificate side and
not python per-se. When you are/were trying with the old python, you
were still using the ca-certificates 20141019 or some other version of
that as well. This has not been told in the bug.

Also is it possible, that the previous version of python has some of
the certificates bundled within itself and in the new version, the
task has been to given to ca-certificates.

If so, then the issue will lie at ca-certificates and ask them why
they removed it ?

Also you should look at the NEWS.gz of the python 2.7.9 to see if you
can track something useful within the changes from 2.7.8 to 2.7.9 . I
did a quick skim, nothing jumped at me, maybe you could do a better
job of looking through it.

$ python --version
Python 2.7.9

/usr/share/doc/python2.7$ zcat NEWS.gz | less

Look forward to hearing from you both on the ca-certificates side and python.

If we are able to determine which one is the culprit, we can file a
bug there and get it fixed in sid.

As we are in freeze, don't think you will be able to get it into
jessie, your motivation should be to get it into sid and then later
into jessie+1 (Stretch). What you could also do is later try getting
into debian-backports where it may or may not work (sort of best
effort but may not work kinda thing). See
http://backports.debian.org/

Waiting to see the new release in Debian but making sure that it will
remain here for a long time, so getting the root cause fixed even
though it takes time would be good.
