Package: postfixadmin Version: 2.3.7-1 Severity: important Control: affects -1 zendframework
Hi, postfixadmin recommends zendframework (version 1), but this package is unlikely to make it for Stretch: we intend to ship version 3 of zendframework, that will be maintained in separate packages (associated with separate upstream components). We’d thus like to get rid of the zendframework package as soon as possible after Jessie gets released. As per #684080, I assume that zend-xmlrpc is the component you’re looking for, can you please check that my assumption is right and that the code is compatible with zendframework version 2 already? I just had a quick look into packaging php-zend-xmlrpc, but it will depend on the not yet packaged php-zend-http, php-zend-math and php-zend-server, that in turn will depend on the not yet packaged php-zend-loader, php-zend-uri, and php-zend-validator, that in turn will depend on the not yet packaged php-zend-escaper… Working on eight new packages for a recommendation on a package I don’t use myself may not be on top of my own TODO list, so I would appreciate some feedback on the ability of postfixadmin to use at least version 2 of zend-xmlrpc before considering going into that path (and would welcome any help for maintaining this stack). Please note that php-zend-* packages version 2 are not really straightforward, but upstream intend to change its development for ZF3 by “separating components into individual, versioned projects”, so the separated Debian packages started for ZF2 are really the way to go, and should be easier to handle as soon as version 3 will be available.
