Holidays - what is that? ;-)

I assume it is similar to geeks being classified as such while the
outside world considers it a negative label: I am not in the army and
dislike been compared to someone with rank.

If my advice to you was seen as orders then my communication failed,
and I apologize.

Great!

Have a look at the bugs files already: http://bugs.debian.org/icecast2

If you feel capable of dealing with some of it then go for it (just go
ahead and interact - don't ask first).

Subscribe to the package: http://packages.qa.debian.org/i/icecast2.html

Then you receive a copy of new bugreports and can interact more
directly to ones you feel capable of handling.

For the not-so-distant future I want the packaging of icecast2, ices2
and libshout moved to team-maintainance at Alioth. I have requested a
project space for that today (thanks to your interest). participation
should then be slightly easier (you will get bugreports through a group
mailinglist instead of special QA subscription, and write access to SVN
if that is of any interest to you) and more visible (the package will
officially be maintained by the group, not me).

So go create an account at http://alioth.debian.org/ if you haven't got
one already, and tell me your account name - then I'll make you a team
member as soon as the project space is created!

Hmm - I actually thought of DDTP here (translation of package
descriptions), but it seems that project is dead :-(

Currently debconf is not used, so no need to translate the packaging.
It seems icecast 2.x does not support i18n upstream, so no need for
l12n there either.

So no need for translation here. You are off course more than welcome
to participate in translation stuff more generally in Debian - first
step there is probably to subscribe to [EMAIL PROTECTED]:
