As one of qemu upstream authors (Peter Maydell) says about tcg interpreter: In theory this lets you run QEMU on systems with architectures we don't have a backend for. In practice I think the set of people who (a) have that kind of a host and (b) would be happy with interpreter performance is the empty set So basically, tcg interpreter is a Bad Thing (tm), and I'm not really sure I want to enable it.
